Web Jurist September 2015 Press Release

Phillips Consulting Limited Holds the Inaugural Edition of Web Jurist Awards for Outstanding Public Sector Websites in Nigeria.

For 12 years, Phillips Consulting Limited has consistently rated the official corporate websites of financial, telecommunications and media institutions, during her annual Web-Jurist® AWARDS. This initiative has contributed to enhancing corporate websites, and increased the consciousness and interest of organisations in appreciating the value of well-articulated websites in today’s digitally driven economy.

The Annual Web-Jurist® AWARDS has become a highly recognised brand and Phillips Consulting Limited has gone further to produce analyses of each organisation’s website, in order to provide bases for improvement. Websites today, have become not just the marketing and publicity face of organisations, but also an important aspect of service delivery and interaction with clients, customers and indeed all stakeholders. Phillips Consulting, in its quest to continue to broaden the interest in, and appreciation of the role that websites play in today’s modern economy, has completed a detailed evaluation of public sector websites in the country and would like to present the results of its findings, assessments and ratings at the inaugural edition of the Web Jurist Awards For Outstanding Public Sector Websites in Nigeria on Tuesday 29th September, at Rockview Hotel Royale (Zuma Hall) , Adetokunbo Ademola Crescent, Wuse II, Abuja.

Public sector institutions have been making great efforts since the early 2000's to find better ways to connect with their constituents via the web. By putting public sector information online, and making it readily available, accessible, and functional, people can now interact with government in ways never before imagined.

The Chairman Phillips Consulting Limited - Mr Foluso Phillips, in a statement described the inaugural Web Jurist Awards for Public Sector Websites in Nigeria as a game changer. He also stated that this event would further drive the development of fully integrated and interactive websites for Nigerian public sector institutions. This is aimed at encouraging participatory and deliberative decision making which will involve the society in a two-way open dialogue.
